Global Talent Visa: Arts and Culture Requirements

Endorsement by Arts and Culture

To apply for the Global Talent Visa in the arts and culture field, you need an endorsement from Arts Council England. This endorsement confirms your status as either an Exceptional Talent or Exceptional Promise in the arts and culture sector.

  • Exceptional Talent: For individuals recognised as leaders in their field.

  • Exceptional Promise: For individuals showing potential to become leaders in their field.

Evidence Required for Endorsement by Arts Council England

You need to provide the following documents in order to obtain an Endorsement from Arts Council:

  • Letters of Support: You need three letters from established organisations or individuals in the arts sector.

  • First Letter: From a UK cultural organisation that is nationally or internationally recognised for its expertise in your specific field of arts and culture.

  • Second Letter: From another cultural organisation (UK-based or international) recognised for its expertise in your field.

  • Third Letter: From either a third cultural organisation or a distinguished individual known for their expertise in your specific area within the arts and culture.

  • CV: Include a detailed history of your artistic career.

  • Supporting Evidence: Provide no more than 10 pieces of evidence across at least two of these three categories: media recognition, international awards, and proof of appearances. Each piece must be no more than two pages of A4 and from within the last five years.

For Exceptional Talent Applicants in Arts and Culture

To demonstrate exceptional talent as Arts and Culture applicant, you should submit at least two of the following:

  • Media Recognition:

  • At least two examples of significant international media recognition of your work.

  • These should include independent critiques, reviews, or evaluations from credible arts and culture critics in well-established media outlets from at least two different countries.

  • Recognition must be from the last five years.

  • International Awards: Evidence of winning or being nominated for at least one arts and culture award of excellence from any country within the last five years.

  • Proof of Participation: Evidence of participation in professional artistic programs in one or more countries within the past five years (e.g., appearances, publications, exhibitions, or distribution of your work).

Applying for the Global Talent Visa

The Arts Council will take 8 weeks to review your application.

Once you receive your endorsement from Arts Council England, you will have three months to apply for the Global Talent Visa. The application is completed online via the GOV.UK website.

    To apply for the Global Talent Visa, you need to provide:

    • A valid passport or an alternative document verifying your identity and nationality

    • Tuberculosis test results, if you’re from a country where the test is required.

    • The endorsement letter from Arts Council England
